Greyhound Wish List
Here is a collection of unusual stamps that I have run across over the years,
but I have not been able to find a supply for them. They are not carried by
anybody who helps to find dog topicals, so they are just here to keep you
tortured by the fact that you don't have all of the Greyhound stamps yet :-)

Thanks to Anne Franklin, we know that this stamp says, "European Association for
Anesthesiology, 7th Congress" and it pictures the discovery of the Mandrake Root.
On the bottom, it says, S. Buchner and K. Leitgeb.

This wonderful primitive art stamp from Chad is probably not really a Greyhound, but it is
interesting to note that they are using a slim-built dog to chase a rabbit,
which might indicate a Greyhound type dog after all.

This is not really a new stamp, since it was issued in Czechoslavakia in about
1975's, but it is not listed as a dog stamp, so it is not found in most
Greyhound collections. The stamp was to honor the artist Philip Galle, I
believe, 1847-1872. I don't have any other information on it, except that
the artwork is called "Deer Hunt." I don't have a source for them.

This was an early art stamp issued by Romania in 1968. I have only the scan, so
I can't read what the writing says below the painting.

Dubai is one of the United Arab Emirates. The painting is a portrait of
the Fluyder boys and was issued for Children's Day on Oct 7, 1968. To the right
is a detail of the children and greyhound. The only copy that I had of this was
gold leafed and framed which is why the scan shows that. I have not gotten a
copy since.

This beautiful stamp is a well known painting of Tiepolo. It was issued by Yemen of the United Arab Emirates in honor of the Unesco efforts to Save the
Monuments of Venice. In the lower right hand corner is an African slave holding
a dynamic greyhound. A detail is to the right. This unique stamp was mounted in
an oval frame on a gold leaf designed background. I have not seen another
copy.
