This card was issued in 1970 by Molassine in Vims Pet Foods as part of their
"Dogs at Work" series.
"BELGIAN SHEEP DOG About the year 1900, these old-fashioned
Belgian sheep dogs were used to pull sledges and carts,
the one shown here is on a milk round. Draught dogs have been
all over the world to pull small loads of goods, and many are
still in use today, like the Huskies who haul sledges over the
frozen wastes of the Artic region."

This playing card was put out in 1996 in Japan. Each card was a different breed
and the Belgian Sheepdog got to be the six of clubs.

Belgium is located in western Europe, bordering the North Sea, between
France and the Netherlands. It is about the size of Maryland. The climate
is temperate; mild winters, cool summers, rainy, humid, and cloudy.
The terrain is flat coastal plains in northwest, central rolling hills,
rugged mountains of Ardennes Forest in southeast. They have a couple of natural
resources; coal and natural gas. The environment is exposed to intense pressures
from human activities; urbanization, dense transportation network, industry
intense animal breeding and crop cultivation. The people are 75%
Roman Catholic. The official languages; Dutch 60%, French 40%.

so they produced many different series. This is from the Dog Series. The first
is the black Belgian Sheepdog.
